Voyages is a leading Media 2.0 business that
produces high quality programming on luxury
travel and the lifestyle interests that are
associated with travel. These interests include
wellness, adventure, gourmet & wine, shopping,
romance, and competition (diving, golf, skiing,
etc).
Voyages’ strategy is to establish a global platform
for luxury travel marketing in the six source
markets that account for 80% of the world’s
high value tourism. These are the US, Germany,
United Kingdom, India, China and Japan. Our
focus is exclusively on the luxury traveler
- an elite group of consumers with above average
income, education and comfort with technology
and thus an important segment for advertisers.
Like other Media 2.0 businesses, we recognize
the importance that “social computing” or “social
media” plays in the emerging competitive landscape.
Our “vertical” focus on luxury travel allows
us to offer consumers content that is highly
relevant and thus far more valuable to them
then untargeted “mass media”. Our business strategies
leverage technology to open up the means of
content production to the consumer and so leverage
information (“meta-data”) to reveal expectations,
preferences and needs of our core audience.
We believe that the established social networking
sites are too “mass” and that consumers (and
the advertisers that want to reach then) will
gravitate to smaller, more exclusive, deeply
engaged communities built on common interests.
We are the early mover in this market.
